Palm Sugar (500 Gm)
About
Palm sugar is made from the sugar-rich sap. The sugar palm (Arenga pinnata) is native to the coastal and tropical regions of Asia. Since palm sugar is an unrefined sugar, it is known to be rich in minerals like potassium, phosphorus, zinc, iron, manganese and copper; small amounts of phytonutrients such as polyphenols, flavonoids and anthocyanidin; and antioxidants. It is also a good source of Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12. Consuming palm sugar helps maintain electrolyte balance, boosts energy levels, promotes musculoskeletal health and increases metabolism. Palm sugar can be used to make a natural organic ORS. (To make an oral rehydration solution with palm sugar, mix 6 teaspoons of this sugar and ½ teaspoon of salt in one liter of lukewarm water.) Palm sugar can be used to make Indian sweets like payasam, halwa, modakas, burfies, etc. One can also try out puddings, cakes and pancakes using palm sugar.
